Not for me, I have usually played the original of famous remakes on the PC, though I have happily played some remakes of console games now on the PC like Resident Evil as I have never played a console game in my life.
Gaming remakes are like remaking ET with the same unaged actors and director, same script and same sets, but they redid the special effects. Yes, but I think the idea in other forms of entertainment is you make your version, there can be a change of historical period, the emphasis placed on various parts of the story can change, the style of dance is an interpretation in a different dance form. In fact, it would have been extremely weird if it didn't. It was only natural that video-games industry would follow. Music, theater, cinema (since the beginning), literature, dance, painting, architecture, fashion, etc. Reproduction has been a major part of arts and entertainment since forever. Gaming has been taken over by accountants long time ago.
